The Designer
CHETCUTI is founded and directed by couturier Jason Chetcuti.
Jason knew from age 15 that fashion was his pathway, creating Inspired couture in the style of the European masters, he began as an after-school apprentice with a family friend and mentor, learning refined garment assembly.
He then travelled to Paris to hone his craft, studying draping, pattern design and hand sewing at the prestigious Paris American Academy, France.
His passion led him to London, where he secured a position in the Haute Couture Atelier at Ralph & Russo's South Kensington workroom, working on couture dresses for clients including Angelina Jolie and Penélope Cruz.
Paris-trained in draping, pattern design and hand sewing, he brings over 25 years of combined experience creating bespoke garments for clients.
The Accolades
Jason is an award-winning designer with specialised experience in couture.
In 2019, he was crowned winner of the Emerging Designer Award at Myer Fashions on the Field, Melbourne Cup Carnival — Australia's most prestigious outdoor fashion event.
In 2013, he won the Miss Universe Australia National Costume Competition, creating his iconic Great Barrier Reef gown for Olivia Wells — a pure silk and chiffon creation made entirely by hand over 250 hours, intricately beaded with feathers, shells and jewels.
From developing corporate wardrobes for high profile organisations, interior design and bespoke furniture and home furnishings, made to measure bridal & evening couture and showcasing collections in Australia and America, his career has always held a global vision.
Design and manufacture based in Sydney Australia, the label ensures attention to detail incorporating world standard expertise.
